Name: John Whitworth (Formerly known as John the Frog)
Position/s with DevonAir: freelance presenter
Years of association with radio station: 1986 - 1990
Most treasured memories of your time at the radio station: probably the devon cream tea tray, and the belly dancing tape that came from (Betsy?) my oldest(?) listener:
The time I was trying to do my first split advert,carefully made sure i was in 'split',carefully pushed the 'split start' button,and carefully heard nothing,as I'd carefully left both faders down,so not QUITE so carefully whispered '****',then in horror saw the red light still on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(miraculously I seemed to get away with that one-I lasted 4 more years)

Getting a present from another listener,as I'd made her a copy of some (greek) music I'd played-It was a print of a drawing she'd done-still proudly on our kitchen wall,thank you Judith!
Playing some VERY inaccessable music while Cousins had the Capital Radio man in his car,and Dave had said 'Listen to this guy,he's playing stuff no-one else does' (it was something by Robert Wyatt)....The Capital man said something to the effect of 'I can see why...' -Sorry,Dave!....(the Frog Prog ceased soon after!)
Working with a bunch of dedicated anarchists.

What happened after DevonAir? Still looking after the Exeter University student radio station's equipment,and repairing gear for various organizations;
STILL doing a 'frog prog' on 87.7 XpressionFM (student radio)
