Name: Nick Bennett (Formerly known as Nicky Bennett)
Position/s with DevonAir: Engineer 1980 to 1985
Chief Engineer 1985 to 1987
Years of association with radio station: 1980 - 1987
Most treasured memories of your time at the radio station: Being hit over the head with a turntable mat by John Brocks. He's probably forgotten about it though . . .
. . . also being part of a truly local radio station in a great part of the world.

What happened after DevonAir? Joined HTV West in Bristol as a sound technician. Made redundant three years later with 299 others on the same day. Thanks Mrs Thatcher!

Formed Media Concepts, a broadcast engineering company and became Chief Engineer for Orchard Media. Designed and built Wessex FM, Gemini Radio (sorry!), and other stations in the UK.

Eventually Orchard Media merged with GWR Group and I continued as its Chief Engineer for the South West Region for two years.

Currently back with Media Concepts and working mostly as a freelance TV sound recordist.
