Name: Rachel Hawkes (Formerly known as oy you)
Position/s with DevonAir: Journalist, tea-maker, the person who was kicked when the cat was unavailable!
Years of association with radio station: 1989 - 1994
Most treasured memories of your time at the radio station: staying out on the moors all night during the Dartmoor Riots. Getting the first interview with the home sec when the berlin wall came down....and of course having lunch with the Prime Minister...photos of which remind me I had really dodgy hair in those days!!!!! But most of all the comradery, we worked hard but we always had a laugh too. Ooh also just remembered....the poems I used to get in the post from prisoners in the days when I was the only female on air. And then there's the time when I missed the news cos there was a spider in the corridor and I had to wait for KK to put a long record on so he could come and remove it!

What happened after DevonAir? Took producers job at Radio Lancashire, then headed up an NCA strand for Radio 4, reporter with Northwest Tonight in Manchester, back to radio 4 as reporter, then TV reporter for South Today.
